Isotope is a jQuery plugin for sorting and filtering elements using smart layouts that adjust to the browser real-estate - from huge displays to small mobiles.

Elements animate as they rearrange either when sorting, filtering or when the browser is resized or zoomed. Layouts include: masonry, fitRows, cellsByRow, straightDown, masonryHorizontal, fitColumns, and cellsByColumn.

This is a great tool for web designers for laying out lists of elements or whole sites in such a way that makes best use of the space available.
